Privacy Policy

1.1 Information you provide

• Account: display name, email, and login credentials.
• Application: legal first and last name (admin review only, never public), date of birth, city, marriage timeline, family plans, and a short intent statement. We use this to review membership. We do not run background checks.
• Profile (optional): occupation, city, faith, habits, interests, and a short bio. A profile photo is required after you are accepted.
• Payment: we do not store full card numbers. Our processor, Stripe, sends us payment confirmation, the last four digits when provided, and a billing address if the processor requires it.
• Communications: emails, support tickets, and messages you send us.
• Community content: posts, comments, chat messages, and other material you submit.

1.2 Information collected automatically

• Log data: IP address, browser, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, and timestamps.
• Device data: device type, screen size, and approximate location at city or country level. Not precise GPS.
• Cookies: essential cookies for login, plus basic analytics cookies to understand how the Platform is used. We do not use advertising trackers.

1.3 Information from others

Payment processors may send us transaction and fraud-prevention details.

• Operate the Platform: review applications, create your account after payment, authenticate you, and grant member access.
• Community: show your profile to other members and help members host and RSVP to meetups.
• Communication: send account notices, event information, and community updates.
• Improvement: study usage patterns, fix bugs, and build features.
• Security: detect fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
• Legal: comply with law and respond to lawful requests.

We do not use your data to target ads. There are no ads.

We do not sell personal information. We share it only in these cases:

3.1 Service providers

Hosting, email, and payment providers that help us run the Platform. They are contractually required to protect your data.

3.2 Legal requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect MarriageHunt, our members, or the public.

3.3 Business transfers

If MarriageHunt is acquired or merged, your information may transfer with the business. We will notify you before it becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

3.4 With your consent

We may share information when you explicitly ask us to.

MarriageHunt is a private community. Profiles and posts are visible to paying members, not to the open internet.

• Other members can see your display name, photo, location, and anything you put in your bio.
• Meetup pages and RSVP lists are visible to other members.
• Do not share a home address, financial details, or a precise location in community spaces.

You can edit or remove most profile fields in account settings.

We keep personal information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform. If you delete your account, we will:

• Remove your profile and personal data from active systems within 30 days.
• Keep anonymized usage data for analytics.
• Keep payment records as required by tax and accounting law, typically 7 years.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access and portability: request a copy of the personal information we hold.
• Correction: update profile information in settings, or ask us to correct it.
• Deletion: request account and data deletion by emailing us.
• Objection and restriction: object to certain processing, or ask us to limit it.
• Withdraw consent: where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

MarriageHunt is based in the United States. Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. We use standard contractual clauses and other recognized mechanisms where required so that your data keeps adequate protection.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including HTTPS/TLS in transit, hashed passwords, limited staff access, and periodic security review.

No system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential.

The Platform is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, email privacy@marriagehunt.com and we will delete it.

We use:

• Essential cookies for login, authentication, and security.
• Functional cookies for preferences such as display settings.
• Analytics cookies to understand which pages members use.

You can disable cookies in your browser. Some features may stop working.

We do not use advertising cookies, ad networks, or social pixels for retargeting.

We may update this Privacy Policy. If a change is material, we will email you or post a notice on the Platform.
